Bimbadgen Estate Alter Shiraz Pinot Noir 2022

Interesting to see that blending these two varieties is becoming more and more popular. It worked many years ago and it is working again today. The result is simply delicious drinking. A crimson/garnet hue, the nose indicates a slightly earthy style with dried herbs, animal skins, mushrooms and red fruits, notably red cherries. The wine lifts even further on the palate with juicy flavours, including ripe raspberry notes and plums. There is surprising length here and fine tannins. Good drinking now and over the next three to five years. Terrific value as well.
