Boulder Fields Macedon Ranges Chardonnay 2024

Share

This was the only wine that winemaker Callan Randall managed to produce in 2024 after the vineyards were wiped out by storms in January of that year, with only two barrels of the Chardonnay being made. Thankfully, this wine is a real beauty. It opens with beautiful notes of citrus and apricot, soon revealing some straw and cucumber, with a pleasing toastiness throughout it. It’s glossy and salty with vivid fruit and great minerality, coming alive with a lot of air. It doesn’t need food at all to shine but is great with cheese, pasta or roast chicken, and it’s only now hitting its stride, so it’ll keep improving for a few more years.
