Briar Ridge Old Vines Shiraz 2023

Top value Shiraz made from estate vineyards in the Hunter Valley and Orange regions. The vineyards are 40 and 30 years old respectively. A vibrant magenta in colour, the nose gives us notes of dark cherries, cranberries, dark herbs, bay leaves, leather, coffee grinds, a touch of warm earth and a hint of spearmint. There is good focus, direction and a flick of acidity here in this wine of medium weight, with a lingering finish. An attractive style for drinking over the next 6 to 8 years.
