If Pinot Gris is not normally your bag, you might want to check out this really interesting take on it. It comes from Beechworth and the Alpine Valleys in Victoria – so it’s cool climate stuff. The juice was fermented before the pressings were fermented separately in old oak, then coming together in the final blend. So, it has texture and fruit but at the same time, there is a fine minerally linear thread that keeps the energy level up. Attractive and very pleasing take on this variety.
