This high-altitude vineyard, sitting in the foothills of the Snowy Mountains, consistently produces first-rate Chardonnay. In the winery, it’s been whole-bunch pressed and naturally fermented in 100% French oak, combining to produce a very smart, elegant wine. The relatively high level of new oak (50%) is surprising, yet the intensity and concentration of the fruit balance it beautifully — never excessive. There are normal citrus and melon characters, but that dry, savoury chalkiness really defines and focuses the long finish.
