Byron & Harold The Protocol Margaret River Chardonnay 2022

Another fine Margaret River Chardonnay from an excellent vintage. Its only crime, at this stage, is simply its youth. There is much more to come from this wine and, while certainly enjoyable now, those who can hold off for a year or two will reap the rewards. A deep yellow/gold hue. The nose is inevitably still very young, but showing some serious intensity. Rich and concentrated, there is evidence that the oak is integrating well. Citrus notes and stonefruits – it is all coming together very nicely. Good length, the concentration continues for the full journey and there is a minerally backing. Has real promise and will improve over the next six to eight years.
