Chandon Vintage Yarra Valley Cuvee 2016

Chandon has a long history of making some of the country’s top sparkling wines and, with long-standing winemaker Dan Buckle, continues to create a broad range of quality wines largely from regions across Victoria, particularly the Yarra Valley.

This is the new Chandon Vintage release and looks to be a very good year. Despite some age the wine is still very youthful and bright. Aromas of green apple and citrus fruits are well matched to French pastry and brioche yeasty complexity. The wine is fine and reserved in the mouth – dry, crisp and concentrated with a slightly creamy texture. The fruit is complex too with good acidity driving a balanced, fine and lingering finish. Great wine now but has the potential to improve with some time in the bottle.
