Wow, you get some real intensity on the nose with this one from the Clare Valley. There’s an intensity of lemon rind and a slightly pithy character, plus a slatey minerality. The palate has a refreshing, crunchy mouthfeel with a tense thread running deep within the powerful and intense fruit. There’s almost a smoky character here that adds further to what is a most engaging and intriguing wine. Will certainly handle some extended cellaring.
