Colab and Bloom Fleurieu Sangiovese Rosé 2020

Share

The Fleurieu Peninsula is an increasingly sort after region for alternative varieties. Tempranillo, vermentino and cabernet franc do well with sangiovese also a standout.

This is a delightful example of a sangiovese rosé made to be a fuller-bodied food-friendly style rather than the more traditional, pretty rosé. There is good complexity to be found – raspberry and dried herb fruits with a distinctive savoury, almost earthy edge. The palate is then concentrated, yet subtle; the generous palate is kept fresh by a crisp acid bite that drives its lingering finish. Great food wine, particularly with salt and pepper squid, hot off the barbecue.
