Colmar Estate Reserve Chardonnay 2021

Again, from the cooler Orange region of NSW, this is a deep yellow hue. The nose is, however, more refined, more focused and more elegant. There are notes of citrus, stonefruits and a minerally backing. There is oak, but it is more balanced at this early stage and less obvious. The wine is seamless, with good direction and a lingering finish. Not the force and power of the Block 2, but more refinement – it comes down to personal preference. This gets my vote. Enjoy over the next six to eight years.
