Corryton Burge Cornelian Bay Pinot Noir 2023

Share

Helen Burge was a proud Taswegian, before becoming an equally proud Barossan. Cornelian Bay on the Derwent River was her home. With fruit from Tasmania’s Coal River Valley, this wine offers a nice link between the past and the present, not to mention some delicious drinking. Maturation in French oak barriques for 13 months. A bright maroon/purple with notes of sappy raspberries, mulberries and red apples. A touch of truffle and undergrowth, followed by graphite and cherries. There are sleek, slippery tannins which offer good grip to a wine with very good focus and decent length. There is a creamy and seductive texture here, with everything well balanced. A lovely Pinot Noir for drinking now and over the next four to six years.
