Craggy Range Te Muna Road Vineyard Sauvignon Blanc 2020

Share

This is a wine lover’s sauvignon blanc, it’s delicious, with so much going on in the glass. The aromas of freshly mown grass of bowling club greens on a summer’s day overlying papaya fruit – you know, tropical but still savoury – and a bouquet garni of just-picked basil, marjoram and parsley. All with a wonderful oyster-shell minerality, and the nose so lively it almost jumps out of the glass.

The palate is taught, linear and savoury. It is structural and weighty, with a fine balance of Martinborough fruit ripeness and that all-important acidity. The wine is a standout, with texture in buckets and an appealing chalkiness to finish. This sauvignon would be perfect for freshly shucked oysters, spaghetti alle vongole or aburi scallop nigiri. Delicious.
