Cullen Cabernet Merlot 2024

A record hot and dry vintage has given us a red of extensive flavour, rich and ripe. It is a blend of 85% Cabernet Sauvignon and 15% Merlot, which was matured in French oak for eight months, 23% new. The fruit is a blend of 48% from the Cullen Vineyard and 52% from the Metricup Vineyard. Dark maroon, the nose offers an array of flavours, with mocha, tobacco leaves, cocoa powder, herbs and smoked meats. A wine of medium weight, decent length, firm tannins and a fine line of acidity. There is a lingering and gentle finish. This will provide immense pleasure over the next six to eight years.
