A plush, opulent, expressive McLaren Vale Shiraz displaying all the qualities that you might expect from this great region. Similar to Octavian, it spent 36 months in French oak before the best barrels are chosen. This is a wine of tremendous and intense fruit concentration, where despite the extended time in oak, it’s the fruit that really is the key. It’s effortless, almost elegant and so expressive. There’s a subtle brick dust character on the palate complementing the sweet ripe fruits. The tannins are precisely integrated, and the oak clearly well chosen to be fit for purpose in dealing with the fruit. Outstanding wine.
