Deep garnet hues glisten in the glass. Complex savoury aroma notes to the fore, whetting the appetite, with game, turned earth and mushroom plus blackberry, bramble. Unwinds slowly, deliberately, in well-melded layers of fruit and oak against an overlay of savouriness. As a six-year-old Shiraz it shows some development but will continue to grow; it has complexity and structure on its side. The presence of the Pyrenees is never too far away, a good sense of terroir here, if you will, with gum leaf, bush, briar notes joining forces with the fruit and oak tannins. Love the Pyrenees spice uptick on the finish to bring about a bright finale.
