Devil’s Lair 9th Chamber Chardonnay 2023

Share

Margaret River and Chardonnay were born for each other, and the 9th Chamber typifies that relationship. There is so much to love with this wine, with its lavishness and complexity but without being over the top. The nose is flinty with a mix of fruity and savoury notes, such as citrus, stone fruit, salinity and peach, and a touch of nuttiness starting to come through. There’s bright fruit, great acid and long length coming together to make a delightful palate with energy and interest. As evidenced by the score, I think it’ll get even better and will probably reach its peak in about five years or so, but it’s looking stunning right now.
