Di Fabio Estate Winemakers Selection Cabernet Sauvignon Cabernet Franc Merlot 2016

This is a sort of left bank-right bank combination of fruits from McLaren Vale, and although the wine is now nine years old, it’s still showing a youthful intensity, albeit with subtle tinges of development. The season produced wines of strength and purpose with the Cabernet providing that structural integrity, the Franc, the lifted aromatics and the Merlot the plushness through the middle. Some subtle savoury leathery notes are working into the palate, which sustains a precise finish.
