Dog Ridge Original Plantings Shiraz 2016

Okay, so here is a McLaren Vale Shiraz that has just started to enter a new stage of its journey. And it’s looking mighty good. Leathery and spicy characters are starting to emerge from the soft and plush fruit base of plummy dark chocolate. It’s medium-bodied with fine chalky tannins and a long finish. It will handle a bit more time in the cellar, but for me, this is at the perfect level of a little bit of age working with the primary fruit characters.
