Dominque Roger Domaine du Carrou Sancerre Rosé 2020

While Sancerre is very well known for its white wines, the village is also home to some of France’s most delicate and pretty rosés. The class of Pinot Noir shines through in these wines which are beautifully underpinned by vibrant acidity. If only there were more of them. This example is the palest salmon pink in colour and impresses thanks to its fine and delicate fruits. White strawberry and raspberry aromas are given extra interest thanks to a chalky undertow. The palate is then dry, juicy and lightweight with a silky texture and flavours of rose petal and spice before a lingering and fine finish. Don’t ruin this with food – just sip and enjoy.
