Elegance, precision and complexity are all hallmarks of the ’22 Ebenezer. It’s a ripper. Shows its class in fragrant cassis, plum and black fruits built against a background deep in sage, black pepper, star anise and woodsy spices and a touch of expensive cigar box oak. Totally integrated, nothing out of place, maintaining a fine-ness of flavour – not too bold or heavy – with a whisper of leather savouriness and earth. Sweeping fine tannins help in the delivery of concentrated flavour. Runs long. Beautifully expressive.

Based in Melbourne, Jeni created the first wine column in the (then) Sun News-Pictorial before moving over to The Age and becoming that paper’s longest-serving wine writer. She was named Wine Communicator of the Year and Legend of the Melbourne Food and Wine Festival in 2014 and in 2018 Legend of the Vine. She is a founding board member of Australian Women In Wine and is the co-deputy chair of Australia’s Wine List of the Year Awards and China’s Wine List of the Year Awards.
