Eisenstone SR802 Ebenezer Shiraz 2019

Share

Eisenstone is a relatively new kid on the block that is a Barossa specialist. They source parcels of fruit from different regions in the Western ranges to craft small volume wines, with bottles produced under each label generally numbered in the hundreds. So we are talking a couple of barrels of this and a handful of barrels of that.

This is the Ebenezer Shiraz, from one of the warmest and driest parts of the Barossa. Bright deep ruby, it is a ripe and generous Barossan that is ready to enjoy now, although it certainly has some staying power. It has an attractive mix of dark cherry, chocolate and cocoa scented fruits with blackberry jam and well integrated oak. The palate continues on that sweet fruit line with fruit pastilles plus black olive tapenade flavours providing both sweet and savoury elements which provides superb drinkability before a supple, juicy and silky finish. There are balancing tannins but this is a wine that is delicious now and over the next six to eight years.
