Fox Creek McLaren Vale Limited Release Nero d’Avola 2022

Share

An increasingly popular Italian variety, which is making serious inroads here, with the McLaren Vale region ideally suited for its production. The team have been making this wine since 2015, its suitability for a range of cuisines bringing it to an ever-increasing audience. The fruit is crushed in a small 2.5 tonne fermenter, with hand-plunging twice daily, over a nine day period. Maturation is in four-year-old French oak (Italian coopers). Bright crimson hue, we have spices, dry herbs, delicatessen meats and cherries. A wine of balance, mid-weight, bright acidity and fine tannins. There is also impressive length here. This is a wine which will provide pleasure at this early stage, but continue to improve over the next five to six years. Good value.
