George’s Folly Unguarded Moment Nero d’Avola 2024

While I liked the Nero d’Avola Rosé, I loved this version of it. It’s youthful and intense, fragrant and bold, with many tantalising characters: confectionery, fresh beetroot, raspberry, tangy boysenberry, pepper and an inkiness that I enjoyed immensely. There’s fruit sweetness but it’s dry as a bone, and the palate is rewarding with concentrated flavours. This is a wine which can be easily consumed by itself but which also goes well with a range of foods, enhancing any meal. As it’s still a baby, it will develop some more complexity over the next five years or so.
