Gioiello Estate Old Hill Chardonnay 2025

From the Upper Goulburn in Central Victoria comes this excellent Chardonnay. The color is a subtle pale straw, and the aromas display some nice floral citrus notes with a little stone fruit and nutty character. Then the palate, which is quite delicate, yet still intense with good core fruit concentration, extends with precision through to a long finish. It’s had twenty-five percent new oak, which is nicely weighted for the fruit weight. It’s crisp with a nice talcy acidity on the finish and a delightful wine for drinking in the shorter to medium term.
