Hastwell & Lightfoot Picker’s Choice Shiraz Cabernet Barbera 2022

Just 144 cases made of this McLaren Vale blend, a mix of Rhone, Bordeaux and Italian varieties. The lighter bottle indicates a trend of which we’ll see much more. Maroon/purple in colour, the nose gives us notes of plums, black cherries, a hint of raisin, redcurrants, delicatessen meats and dried fruits. Well structured with fine and bright acidity, the wine is ripe and of medium length. There are also hints of chocolate emerging on the lingering finish. Enjoy it now and for the next three to four years.
