Heartland Directors Cut Cabernet Sauvignon 2018

Share

A sleek cabernet sauvignon that celebrates the power and finesse of Langhorne Creek. It has cedar, sage and blueberry notes with ground coffee and vanilla in the background. An opulent style, showcasing fine-grained oak textures as well as firm tannins. It looks, smells and tastes as if every detail has been carefully selected. I first tasted it with a barbeque, but I let the wine breathe and revisited later in the day — this time with dessert — a great decision. This match, with a spongy-textured coffee log cake, is to die for. In every mouthful the mocha, dark chocolate and ground coffee flavours are present. The dusty tannins of the wine are powdery, and also coffee driven. Overall this food and wine encounter is full of enticing sweet tones, an absolute delight to contemplate the interactions it provoked with this young flavourful wine.
