Heggies Vineyard Estate Riesling 2019

Share

The Heggies Vineyard is one of the jewels of the Eden Valley with a superb capacity to craft very fine, fragrant and detailed rieslings. These are wines that have the purity of a mountain stream with a belly of cold steel, providing power and longevity.

The 2019 vintage is right on the money, although super shy in its youth. Very pale, it is beautifully fresh, delicate and understated with lime, stony and almost spicy aromas. It is then bone dry with feather-light weight, and tightly coiled fruit that is long and sinewy leading to a stony, chalky palate. The fine balance is the key which allows it to drink beautifully with oysters right now or fresh King Geroge Whiting over the next three to five years.
