Hirsch Hill Reserve Pinot Noir 2024

Share

Pale crimson and garnet colours tend to mask the fact that this is a mighty powerful Pinot Noir from the Yarra Valley. It’s sourced from 30-year-old MV6 clone vines, and after picking was partially cold macerated with skin contact before partial whole bunch inclusion and a further 2 weeks on skins. Only 20% new oak was used, yet it plays an important role in elevating the aromas and driving the palate. Subtle savoury mushroom-like characters merge with primary raspberry nuances. The palate is still tightly held with firm, sinewy tannins and a little oak. The fine acid lines give focus. A wine of great poise.
