Nebbiolo is quickly becoming my favourite grape so I was chuffed to see Patch doing their own now. It’s quite a ripe beast, which needs lots of air to tame it, but it’s worth the wait. It shows lots of luscious, red and black cherry fruit, alongside tomato leaf, violets and some spice. The palate is racy and broad with chewy, gluey tannins that melt away when the wine’s paired with something rich that can hold its own. It’s still a youthful little thing so give it a bit of time to mature.
