Hollick Pushing the Boundaries Barbera 2024

Share

Good Barbera is a woefully underrated wine, and this is a good Barbera. The grapes come from the Estate’s Italian Block, which is part of their Wilgha Vineyard in Coonawarra. Quantities are extremely limited. The colour is a vibrant purple with a light blue haze. The wine is ripe, soft and generous, with the nose giving us notes of dried herbs, plums, blueberries and aniseed. Sleek and seamless, there is excellent length here with the wine finishing with very fine, powdery tannins. A very drinkable example of Barbera, there is so much to like here. Enjoy it over the next four to six years.
