Henschke Hill of Peace 2022

Share

From Semillon vines planted by fourth-generation Louis Henschke in 1952 on the Hill of Grace Vineyard in the Eden Valley — farmed organically and biodynamically — aged five months in seasoned French oak barriques and bottle-aged before release. Ripe lemon, lemon pith, hay, lime skin, mandarin and floral blossom on the nose — mineral and tensile, with a zesty aesthetic. The palate has lovely texture and a pillowy feel, citrus-led with lemon skin, mineral and hay, very architectural with a sheath of chalky phenolic texture and bright acidity drawing to salivating length. A wine of class and sophistication acting as a reminder of the potential for this grape variety in this region, with the deft hand of Henschke staking the claim.
