Howard Park Great Southern Flint Rock Chardonnay 2022

Share

A refined, oh so elegant Chardonnay. Brings a different perspective to the Chardonnay grape, especially when compared with the plush opulence of neighbouring Margaret River wines. Here, lime zest, red apple, grapefruit and straw aromas define a leaner, more circumspect entrance for the grape. The palate confirms it with a tight canvas in place, well-structured by brisk acidity, upon which rests a lovely citrus fruit presence, so juicy and palate arousing. Good line and length in play here, as per the Great Southern’s cool, maritime climate, with a briny, mineral edge that helps define the wine’s character. Finishes with a light, tart, citrus zestiness. Very impressive.
