Now for something completely different. Pinot Meunier is one of the three main varieties of Champagne, but it unusual to see a 100% Pinot Meunier sparkling wine, like this one. The fruit comes from the excellent Mount Barrow vineyard near Mount Barker. This is a beautiful, pure and almost crystalline wine with a crisp fresh palate. The time on lees of 18 months has added a little to the palate texture with flavours of fresh brioche and subtle red fruits creating a slightly exotic character.
