Each Mount Barker vineyard block is vinified separately. Electric mid gold. Toasty and honeyed with lots of lime spritz on the nose. There’s also fresh limestone tinged with wet stone, crushed limestone, lifted spice, hints of golden delicious apple and fuzzy bath salts. The palate has hessian-like fine and ripe phenolics. Acidity remains over flavour when it comes to length. All citrus. Lemon. Hay. Brightness of acidity is expected with a Great Southern Riesling, and it’s here in spades. A rush of minerality and some lanolin, while the lemon juice acidity has the last word. A treat to enjoy a museum wine at this price.
