Jules Taylor Gruner Veltliner 2020

Share

The rise of Austria’s great gift to the world of wine, gruner veltliner, continues, this time in Marlborough. Marlborough is on the cool side for this variety and it shows in this wine which is a very crisp example of gruner. It is pale in colour and shows layers of exotic fruits – feigoa, guava and citrus fruits that are clean and pure. This then leads to an acid driven palate with bright fruits and also some textural creaminess, which this variety is well known for, before finishing quite long with a distinct peppery edge. This is a gruner that is crying out for salt and pepper whitebait.
