Hand picked on 13th Feb and cold settled in the tank. There is a distinct floral bouquet to this wine which accurately describes that it’s not from the east coast, blink and you’ll miss its delicate freesia and gardenia blooms. Pay attention and you’ll find green melon, backyard limes and green apple curls. This vintage shows a watery cascade of acidity that undulates and some fine pithy oyster shell dust on the finish. It’s drinking well now and has between 5-8 years on hand to develop further. For me, this is a wine that should be celebrated with school prawns and aioli on the regular weekly rotation.
