Koonowla The Tiller Shiraz 2020

The fruit for this classic Clare Shiraz hails from the estate’s block in the Armagh sub-region. Maturation was in French oak, 50% new. Deep, dark red in hue, this is big and bold and chockful of flavour. Cassis, mocha, chocolate, black fruits, truffles and aniseed. Terrific focus here, with good balance, this is a savoury style with impressive length, and a lingering finish. Love it. This has a decade plus, ahead of it. If the Clare Shiraz versus Cabernet argument is still happening, this is one very big tick for Shiraz.
