Kooyong Single Vineyard Block Meres Pinot Noir 2020

Share

Mornington Peninsula’s Kooyong winery boasts so many single vineyard wines, it can be difficult keeping track of them all. Fortunately, each brings forth an individual quality which is heightened by similar winemaking throughout. Meres has a reputation for firmness, tending towards the lean, with subtle aromatics. The 2020 lives up to those qualities.  Forest floor and cherry scents mix with just a touch of lively spice bringing both savouriness and red fruited intensity. Maintains a lean approach on the palate, nothing unusual there considering the vineyard, with a firm tannin presence. A well-structured wine, it can be aged a little longer than its immediate single vineyard siblings.
