Leasingham Classic Clare Watervale Riesling 2017

Share

Shapeshifts beautifully in the glass. Pale straw-gold. Opens with lifted notes of ripe kaffir lime, dehydrated lime and heady citrus blossom, hovering over tangerine, lemon butter and macadamia cream. A saline edge, crushed rock minerality and a subtle flicker of kerosene weave through without ever intruding. The palate is fresh, textural and fulsome — honey butter, toast, preserved lime, mandarin pith, macadamia and nettle coat the mouth. Fine phenolic grip and waves of surging acidity elongate and refresh the finish. An outstanding museum release, reminding us of the regality of great Clare Valley Riesling.
