Lienert Laudamus Shiraz 2016

Share

The brothers Lienert, John the grower and James the winemaker (which all sounds rather Biblical), have crafted a classic Barossa Shiraz here, in tribute to their father, also John. An opaque maroon in colour, there is deep concentration here. Chocolate, brambles, leather, dark berries, mocha, cloves, truffles and dry vegetation, with some oak evident although the integration is obviously well done. With good focus, fine tannins and serious length, this is an impressive wine with a good decade or more ahead of well cellared bottles.
