The Reserve is a selection of top parcels and barrel selection. Here you can see Alex Beckett’s ability to fit together a mosaic of fruit, spice and texture to make a cohesive and ageworthy wine. Some Acai and purple berries, lavender and wild thyme high notes. Morello cherries sit firmly in the centre of the palate. Acidity is chiselled and stretches the line of the wine, long and fine. Oat spice is powdered white pepper and cumin. With each step the range of Pinot Noirs from Marnong show greater complexity and detail, this will age well and slowly. Cellar for a further 3-5 years. For now it calls for butterflied spatchcock and a kumqat glaze.
