Medhurst Estate Vineyard Chardonnay 2023

A choir of citrus is the true champion of this wine. Grapefruit skin, lemon wedges and white peach fuzz. You could be distracted by its frangipani blossom and honeysuckle but pure citron drives you back to the Yarra. It’s moreish and supple in natural acidity. Powerful but wily, it’s intertwined with a filigree of fine oak spice. White pepper, grated ginger and sandstone. Wave upon wave of fleshy fruit dances upon your tongue. This is wildly tantalising. Drink now and will cellar well for another 5 years onwards. Serve with a killer cacio e pepe pasta and you won’t need dessert.
