Ninth Island Pinot Noir 2024

Share

There’s a lot going on here for a Pinot Noir in the mid-twenties! Of all the grapes, this is the toughest to nail in at a decent price. There’s a good push of dark forest berries and forest floor leading the aromas before hazelnut, au jus, dark cherry, twigs and some mineral nuance. It’s quite open and aromatic for such a young wine. The palate has good intensity, with sapid dark cherry, raspberry, brown spice and forest floor and there’s a nice vein of powdery tannins holding sway along with fresh acidity. Not to labour the point, but for $25, you can’t go wrong here.
