Pettavel Estate Cabernet Sauvignon Cabernet Franc Merlot Petit Verdot 2018

This is a combination of Cabernet Sauvignon, Cabernet Franc, Merlot, and Petit Verdot from an old winery and vineyard in Geelong. It was a pretty good vintage in 2018, delivering fruit of deep complexity and palate richness. That combination of ripe plum, some pepper, and dark cherry with a slightly rich, syrupy chocolate is compelling. The palate is neatly woven together with firmish tannins and a decent influence of oak, all perfectly balanced and poised.
