Pirathon Cabernet Shiraz 2022

This is a blend of Clare Valley and Barossa Valley fruit. The nose really shows the Cabernet’s qualities to great effect, with its blackcurrant and plummy characters dominant. Then the palate is backed up by the mid-palate richness of the Shiraz, with a mix of dark chocolate and blackberry fruits. The tannins are well-integrated, while the oak is balanced and certainly not intrusive. Impeccably balanced and poised, and a wine that, while excellent drinking even now, would suit some longer-term cellaring.
