Pizzini Lambrusco 2024

Share

You’ve been lied to – Lambrusco is not just a sweet, simple, aggressively fizzy red wine. Real Lambrusco is a grape variety, encompassing a family of clones, hailing from the north of Italy in Emilia-Romagna. Here, the wines are savoury and interesting whilst retaining that refreshing sparkle. Pizzini’s exemplar takes its lead from the OG, made from one of the premium clones. It offers up aromas of black cherries and blackberry pie, with undertones of earthy sumac. At just 12.5% ABV it’s light and bright and oh so refreshing, with a light sparkle. Flavours of black fruit mingle with dried Italian herbs and a hint of chocolate. The refreshing acidity and a gentle lilt of tannin pair perfectly with an abundant grazing board.
