Renzaglia Pinot Noir 2024

Share

From the Patina Vineyard in the Central Ranges, this is the first release of Pinot Noir from the team. The vineyard has two clones, 777 and MV6. 777 was sent, as whole berries, to a 1,000-litre amphora for fermentation. The MV6 was picked a couple of weeks later and fermented with 15% whole bunches in an open fermenter. The parcels were given ten months maturation before blending. 144 dozen made. A russet/crimson hue, there are attractive savoury notes here, plus a sweet core of cherries and raspberries. Floral fragrances throughout with notes of kirsch, leaf litter, mushrooms and a touch of aniseed. There is good acidity and decent length here, through to fine, quite sleek tannins. A bright and thoroughly enjoyable Pinot Noir for drinking over the next six to eight years.
