Rowlee Pinot Noir 2024

This was a delightful, exceptional value surprise. The winemaking began with a four day cold soak to extract colour and aroma before whole berry fermentation, with 5% whole bunch. This aromatic-focussed beginning has yielded the nostalgic notes of childhood – ripe strawberries, grasped with chubby fingers from a straw-filled patch, cherry candy, sweet baking spices and a never-ending Sunday afternoon frolic through wild flowers. In the mouth it’s light and bright with more juicy berry fruits, this time without the sweetness. Tangy cranberry joins the melee, as does a hint of rosemary, star anise and vanilla bean. It finishes with fine, ripe tannins and yellow plum acidity.
