Rowlee R Series Nebbiolo 2019

A super effort with Nebbiolo here which is never an easy grape variety to handle. Orange can also have its own challenges so huge kudos to Rowlee for such a successful vintage. Mid crimson in colour, it immediately shows a beautiful savoury heart with tarry, dark earthy tones on a bed of dark cherry fruits lifted by exotic Middle Eastern spices. Tannins are gentle for Nebbiolo with crisp acidity providing good structure and drive. Fruit is generous, full bodied, dark and brooding with good overall balance before a long and open-knit finish. Very impressive and probably close to its peak but will hold on for some time yet.
