Running with Bulls Barossa Valley Tempranillo 2023

Share

They call this very convenient 1.5 litre bag a Bagnum, which I rather like. Almost as much as I like the wine it holds. Barossa Tempranillo which underwent a wild ferment before ten months of maturation in a mixture of new and older Hungarian oak, as well as some older French oak barrels. The Bagnum gives up 30 days for drinking and even has a ‘best buy’ date. A dark maroon colour, this is soft and plush, but bursting with flavours. Not a subtle style but full of notes of black fruits, chocolate, licorice, graphite and smoked meats. It rather smells like an enticing barbecue and would make an ideal match for one. A supple and bright wine with fine tannins and medium length.
